This Privacy Policy explains how we (SciePro GmbH) collect and process personal data when you use this website.

2. Legal basis and purpose of processing

We process personal data only when allowed by the GDPR. The main purposes are:
  • to operate and protect this website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – legitimate interest)
  • to measure website use with consented analytics (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR – consent)
  • to send newsletters only after user consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR – consent)

3. Consent management for cookies and tracking

We use the consent management platform Klaro. Non-essential cookies (e.g. analytics) are blocked until you opt-in. You can withdraw consent at any time via the cookie settings link on the website.

4. Google Tag Manager

We use Google Tag Manager to deploy other scripts. Tag Manager itself does not collect personal data. It only controls loading of other tools that may collect data based on your consent.

5. Google Analytics 4

If you consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our website. IP addresses are anonymized before storage. Google may transfer data to the USA under Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. MailerLite (Newsletter)

If you sign up for our newsletter, we store your email address and send newsletters only after double opt-in confirmation. MailerLite acts as our processor under a Data Processing Agreement and may transfer data outside the EU under Standard Contractual Clauses. You can unsubscribe at any time through the link in every email.

7. No statutory or contractual obligation to provide data

You are not legally or contractually obliged to provide personal data. However, the website may not work correctly without essential cookies, and we cannot send newsletters without your email.

8. Data retention

  • Analytics data: according to Google’s retention settings (usually 2–14 months)
  • Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent
  • Server logs: typically 7–30 days for security reasons

9. Third-country transfers

Google and MailerLite may process data in countries outside the EU/EEA (especially the USA) under Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

10. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:
  • access your data (Art. 15)
  • correct inaccurate data (Art. 16)
  • delete data (Art. 17)
  • restrict processing (Art. 18)
  • data portability (Art. 20)
  • withdraw consent at any time (Art. 7)
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21)

11. No automated decision-making

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

We may update this Privacy Policy when required by law or technical changes. The current version is always published on this page.
