Description
Full-body surface anatomy of an adult Black male is rendered in an upright, neutral stance, with the head shaved and the upper limbs held slightly abducted from the trunk to keep the lateral torso and proximal arm contours readable. Superficial muscular form is emphasized across the pectoralis major, rectus abdominis with the linea alba, external oblique, deltoid, and the anterior thigh compartment including rectus femoris and vastus medialis and lateralis. Bright blue circumferential bands encircle each knee at the level of the patellofemoral region, drawing attention to the transition between distal femur, patella, and proximal tibia in a weight-bearing posture. Skin tone is uniform dark brown against a plain white background. Marking the knees in a standing figure matters because many teaching points and common injuries are grounded in alignment: femoral anteversion, genu valgum or varum, and rotational positioning of the tibia all change the apparent tracking of the patella and the contour of the vastus medialis obliquus. Clinically, this is where patellofemoral pain syndrome is discussed, and it is also a useful setup for correlating surface landmarks with internal structures such as the tibial tuberosity (patellar tendon insertion) and the joint line targeted during arthrocentesis or intra-articular injection. Posture counts. Use this figure for gross anatomy courses introducing surface anatomy and somatotype, for orthopaedic and sports medicine lectures on knee biomechanics, or for patient-facing education that needs a realistic adult male body model with clear lower-limb emphasis. It also fits medical publishing layouts that require a clean, isolated figure for overlays, callouts, or comparative panels. Anatomical accuracy verified by SciePro's Medical Advisory Board.
